How to Install & Use Photoshop Brushes

Photoshop brushes let you express your creativity in a completely new way. With hundreds of Photoshop brushes available for download, you are truly spoilt for choice so there’s no excuse not to use them. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to install and use Photoshop brushes.

Download Photoshop brush you want to use and unzip the file
On your computer, go to Photoshop folder and locate Presets > Brushes
Move your downloaded brush file to the above folder
Launch Photoshop and go to Edit > Presets > Preset Manager
Click the Load button, locate your newly added brushes and click Open. You can also use the import presets function to install an entire folder of presets at one time. Once you’ve done that, you’re ready to use the new Photoshop brush.
To use a Photoshop brush, go to Window > Brushes
Select your brush and then paint over the canvas. You can adjust the size and shape of your brush in the Brush Settings panel
